The Flu and Bucklands Beach Intermediate

Last year everyone was worried about catching the dreaded Swine Flu! It was all over the news, schools were being closed and the hospitals were struggling to look after those that were sick.  As a result Bucklands Beach Intermediate thought it would be a good idea to be a SneezeSafe school, teaching everyone about good cold and flu hygiene.  Tissues and Hand Sanitizers were put into every class and we learnt how to sneeze safely. We even taught the nation how to be sneeze safe on The Breakfast Show with Paul Henry.

This year Kleenex asked us if we would like to help them in their campaign ‘For Kids by Kids’.  Mrs Robinson organised a small research group to study the risks of the flu and she challenged us to come up with some startling statistics.  We hope you enjoy reading our findings and that you learn to Sneeze Safe!
